White House Easter Egg Roll

I entered us in the lottery and we won tickets to the White House Easter Egg Roll!  After waiting in line for what seemed like hours we ran around on the White House Lawn, saw CUT-Chicago Ultimate Tumbling (whoa.), did a variety of crafts, snacked on organic apples, listened to The Wanted perform live and watched (but decided not to wait in line for) the actual Easter Egg Roll.  Another wait in an hour long line (in the rain) to exit and we were standing on Constitution Avenue, arms full of Peeps and packages of Goldfish crackers, each child with a souvenir wooden egg clutched tightly.

"That was fun!" Michael said as we pulled into traffic to head home.

I am thankful the waiting and the chilly rain didn't ruin the day for them.  And I'm grateful to the ladies, also standing in the rain, that gave them boxes of free Peeps, I'm pretty sure that's what saved us.
